Video Head Impulse Test (vHIT)

What is Video Head Impulse Testing (vHIT)?

A video head impulse test (vHIT) utilizes small glasses and cameras to assess how well the eyes and inner ears work together. Similar to rotational testing, the head is moved to determine the health of the vestibulo-ocular reflex. Small, quick movements are used as you wear the glasses to look at all six semi-circular canals.

vHIT is often used to determine if there is a need for more in depth testing, such as a VNG.

How do I prepare for my vHIT?

Really, just come as you are. Chances are this will be done during other testing or on your initial assessment.
