What is an Audiologist?
An Audiologist is a health care professional trained in the assessment and treatment of hearing and balance disorders. Below are the services available at the Hearing & Balance Center of Austin.
Hearing testing for pediatric and adult patients:
Standard diagnoistic testing for pediatric and adult patients including visual reinforcement audiometry (VRA), conditioned play audiometry (CPA), and otoacoustic emissions (OAE) testing.
Hearing aid consultation and fitting:
We provide sophisticated solutions for both adult and pediatric populations. Current manufacturers include: GN Resound, Oticon, Phonak, Siemens, Starkey and Widex
ABR testing for newborns with failed hearing screenings as well as the hard to test populations, ECochG testing for Meniere's disease
For those who come to our office for vertigo or dizziness, videonystagmography (VNG), elecctrocochleography (ECochG), Calorics, computerized dynamic posturography (CDP) or video head impulse testing (vHIT) procedures may be utilized to determine the source of your symptoms.
Custom ear plugs for musicians, noise and water protection, assisted listening devices (amplified telephones, alarm clocks, t.v. ears etc.)
